Can anyone tell me more about boating in and around the Gulf Islands? My brother and I plan to take a week or two to do some exploring in his 32(?)ft boat with a 160(?) hp motor. I don’t know how fast his boat will cruise but it’s pretty fast for a 30+ footer. I’d just like a rough idea of how much time I should expect to take getting from Port Moody out to any or all of the islands. We talked about the Northern Gulf Islands but if time were to allow we’d explore other areas too. I realize every boat will take a different amount of time – all I need is an estimate so I can start my research from there.

You are corredct about the place being somewhat undiscovered but it sure can be busy on weekends during the summer. We tend to try and do most of our boating mid week when it’s a little quiter.

Gorgeous shots. I’ve boated a lot around the San Juans and some of the islands right off of Sydney. Spectacular place and as yet fairly “undiscovered.” Can’t wait to go back! Happy WW.
