Many visitors to the Gulf Islands come through Seattle on their way to the islands. I’ve always encouraged friends to spend a few days in Seattle if they have a chance. Keep this book at the top of your pack. All the information is concise and up date. Even though this book is published in ’95 the best places are still there. We refered to it during both our trips and found it a must have.

Charles Kahn’s book Hiking the Gulf Islands: An Outdoor Guide to BC’s Enchanted Isles is now a little out of date but still is the best book about hiking and walking in the Gulf Islands. Hopefully an update will come soon, in the meantime this version has to do. Highly recommended.
