Our specialty is utilizing these wood species in our custom designed homes which we ship across Canada and export to the USA, Europe, Japan, and Asia. Our professional in-house design team can bring your ideas into each custom plan – whether it is a small cottage on an island, a residential house or a large scale resort building. Our House Packages include all structural wood components (floors, walls, & roof systems), doors windows, flooring, mouldings, hardware, interior and exterior finishes, and even roofing. All materials can be shipped directly to your site. With every project, we also provide a complete set of construction drawings and detailed bill of materials – and we are always available for building support.

After an initial consultation to understand your ideas and design criteria, our in-house design staff can help you decide the appropriate style, layout, and size of building which will meet your needs --- and a key part of this process is creating drawings that are easy to visualize. Our
Auto-CAD, and Colour Archi-CAD 3-D Renderings allow clients to see what their houses look like “finished” so changes can be made at the design stage.
At Tamlin, we also have our own materials estimation department,so we keep costs in line by designing with your budget in mind. However, through experience we have found that using better quality materials in the beginning is often the best decision when maintenance, and after-service issues are considered. The bottom line is that we only recommend products that we would use if we were building our own house. Quality is always a concern.

"D" Log Houses

Our most popular style of log house is the
Milled 6x8 “D” profile in douglas fir. A premium grade of douglas fir log offers both the economy and quality which home builders appreciate. The logs are kiln dried, precut, prenotched, predrilled (for electrical) and numbered for simple and fast construction. The only finishing required is staining which many homeowners prefer to do themselves. Our 6x8 “D” log packages are ideal for remote locations or cottage settings. In addition to douglas fir we also offer our “D” log in spruce and western red cedar.

Timber Frame Houses
Tamlin’s Hybrid Timber Frame home is conventional 2x4/2x6 wood frame construction, complimented with the natural beauty of timber frame accents. A Hybrid package offers all the advantages of a timber frame home appearance, while maintaining the complete design and cost flexibility of a conventional system. Tamlin also designs and supplies
Traditional Timber Frame house packages. Only the finest quality douglas fir, yellow cedar, and western red cedar timbers from British Columbia are used in Tamlin’s Traditional and Hybrid Timber Frame homes. Each timber is hand selected for the best appearance and strength. All timber frame components are test fitted, pre drilled and sanded at the factory, prior to shipping.
