Lodgings in the Gulf Islands area range from inexpensive motels to five star resorts. Most, but not all, of the islands have public and private campgrounds and marinas; some have marine parks suitable for the paddler and other boaters. The locations of the public campgrounds and parks are shown on the maps for each of the islands.
Bed and breakfast accommodations are available on all the islands. The prices vary widely depending on the amenities offered, or the location of the b & b. One can pay as little as $90.00 (Cdn) per night for a comfortable room in a private home or as much as $300.00 (Cdn.) for a room with a spectacular view, a Jacuzzi, and a fireplace.
Timeshare resorts can be found on Salt Spring Island and Pender Island. Prices vary based on the size of the unit and the week reserved. If rented on a secondary timeshare site, prices can be as low as $143.00 (Cdn) per night for an oceanview 2 bedroom, 2 Bath villa with a living room, full kitchen, and electric fireplace. If you are bringing a pet, you must first ask the resort if it’s allowed during the season you’re going in.

If you are considering vacationing on any of the Gulf Islands in peak months (mid-June to mid-September), it is best to make reservations months in advance – especially for the rental cottages which are often fully booked for the season by the end of March.
